We are currently seeking donations for Project Moonshine, a non-profit organization designed to teach filmmaking skills to students by documenting important artistic events in our community. These projects will include unique perspectives of youth that are rarely captured through conventional modes of filmmaking. There is no other program like this in Nevada; no other organization or educational program that teaches filmmaking skills through the integration of several different art forms. The cultural climate in northern Nevada has evolved dramatically over the last 15 years and we feel this is an important time to examine these changes in relation to the surrounding community. As it is now, youth remain an underrepresented demographic in Reno and we aim to empower teens by putting the tools of visual representation in their hands. Costs associated with filmmaking are significant. In order to keep the project free to the students we are seeking contributions to offset the costs of equipment, film and production. We hope that you will decide to join us as a Producer for these groundbreaking documentary projects and become part of Reno's cultural and artistic history.
